Gala Gradiva
This winged, lithe, eternal figure walks on a bridge shaped like a water clock. Gala Gradiva, one of the whimsical names Dali invented for his muse, appears again, in this sculpture which seems to fly, not far, remote. Perhaps she will find herself among these disturbing images of a painting done in 1931, which Dali entitled "Gradiva Finds the Anthropomorphic Ruins", in which the desolate wastes characteristic of the painter already appear.
This bridge / water-clock is perhaps the premonition of Gala's death. Dali may go in search of her, in another time, on another earth belonging to a cosmos he had invented to welcome them. For obvious reasons, we had to suppress the bridge in this piece.
