Carmen

This dance by Carmen, the gypsy, is a whirlwind of rythm and joy.

"Carmen", is an opera with a Spanish theme, although Bizet's score is not based on a real Andalusian folk music. The wonderful music has its source in his own inspiration, and is one of the most important lyrical works of the nineteenth century.

This figure by Dali dances a "seguidilla" barefoot like the dancers of the Ancient Egypt.

The castanets are sound instruments similar to those seen here, although these are made of metal, and modern castanets of hard wood.
